THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V D Satheesan said the place where the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is located is not a suitable location. He said the zoo should be relocated to a place adjoining a forest area, such as Neyyar, and upgraded to international standards. He said this while inaugurating the programme ‘Reimagining Kerala’.
“Is this really the right place for the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo? This is a form of cruelty to the animals. They have their own natural habitat. The zoo should be shifted to Neyyar or a similar forest area. It should be relocated to a place that is compatible with the animals’ natural habitat. That place should then be developed to international standards. It is one of my dream projects,’ said the chief minister.
