Malayali dies in accident in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: A pravasi Malayali was killed in an accident in Saudi Arabia. The incident happened at Al Khobar in the eastern province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The victim has been identified as Gopakumar (52) of Gopi Sadanam House in Kollam Kottarakkara Poovattoor.

A car knocked him down while he was crossing the zebra crossing on Tukhba Street 20 on Friday at 4 pm. The car ran over him and sped away without stopping.

Gopakumar had been working in Dammam for 16 years. He was running an AC workshop in Tukhba. He leaves behind his father Gopinath Pillai, mother Ponnamma, wife Sreeja and children Ganesh and Kavya. Legal proceedings have been initiated to take the body back home.
