MALAPPURAM: The Congress has placed a new condition before P V Anwar since entry to the front with Trinamool Congress is difficult. The condition set by the Congress is that if he wants to enter the UDF, should form Kerala Party. The Congress may demand this in the meeting to be convened tomorrow. If Anwar does not comply with it, the UDF may come to the stand that cooperation alone is enough.
It is reported that some constituent parties have informed the Congress that they are concerned that taking P V Anwar into the front will cause headaches later. The opinion that cooperation with P V Anwar is enough, is strong in the UDF. Therefore, Congress leaders are of the opinion that it is appropriate for Anwar to form a new party in the state.
The Trinamool Congress leaders have expressed displeasure on Anwar going to the UDF. A section of Trinamool Congress leaders have written a letter to Mamata Banerjee pointing this. However, the decisive factor will be what stand Anwar will take on this issue. Anwar, who joined the DMK after ending cooperation with the CPM, joined the Trinamool Congress later. Therefore, there is concern that forming another party will affect Anwar's political future. The possibility that the ranks or the people will question Anwar's credibility cannot be ruled out.
