Footprints and pieces of paper; Police to drain well and examine in Thiruvathukkal double murder case

KOTTAYAM: The police are all set to search the well of the house where the double murders were committed in Thiruvathukkal. The decision is to drain the water and search the well. The examination is part of a search to find CCTV’s DVR. The police got signs of the accused arriving near the well. Footprints and pieces of paper were found near the well.

Businessman Vijayakumar and his wife Meera were found murdered this morning. Vijayakumar's body was lying in the hall of the house. Meera's body was in the bedroom. Both were found dead when the maid arrived in the morning. The bodies were lying in a pool of blood. Police said there were injuries caused by a weapon on their faces.

A special team has been appointed for the investigation. The investigation is being led by Kottayam DySP. The police response is that they have hints about the accused. It is also reported that one person has been taken into custody. Vijayakumar is the owner of auditorium Indraprastha and other business establishments in the city.

The police are thoroughly searching the house. The police got a preliminary information from the housemaid. Initial information is that the accused is a migrant. The police said they suspect personal enmity leading to the murder and that they need more time to confirm it.
