School management suspends class teacher and headmistress in Arjun’s suicide case

PALAKKAD: The school management has suspended class teacher Asha and headmistress Lissy in connection with the suicide of 14-year-old Arjun. The boy's parents had alleged that class teacher Asha was the reason for his suicide. However, headmistress Lissy had earlier responded to the media blaming the boy’s parents. The action was taken on the directions of the DEO.

The students had protested in the school soon after he committed suicide. The AEO and the DEO then arrived and enquired the children about the matter. After this, the teachers were suspended pending investigation. The management said that a departmental investigation will continue against them. The school management clarified that strict action will be taken against the teacher if any lapses are found from her side.
