Five-year-old goes missing, search ends with tragic discovery in well

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A five-year-old boy was found dead in a well on an unoccupied property near his home at Kottukal in Balaramapuram on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Deepak, son of Dileep and Sruthi, who live near the CSI Church at Kottukal.

The boy’s parents alerted the Balaramapuram police on Saturday afternoon after he went missing. Police and a Fire and Rescue Services team from Neyyattinkara searched the area and later found his body in a well on the premises of an unoccupied house nearby. Fire and Rescue Services personnel recovered the body from the well.

It is not yet clear how the child fell into the well. The Balaramapuram police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
