21-year-old youth arrested for murdering Class 12 girl for rejecting love

CHENNAI: A girl of Class 12 was stabbed to death for rejecting love. The incident happened at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. The dead has been identified as Shalini of Cherangottai. She was murdered when she was going to school. The 21-year-old accused Muniyaraj has been arrested.


Muniyaraj had been troubling her for quite some time in the name of love. However, the girl rejected his proposal. When he annoyed her again the other day, she informed her family. Shalini's father then reached his house and warned him.


Muniyaraj waited for her when she was on her way to the school. He tried to talk to her but she showed no interest to talk to him and went forward. He then took the knife he had in his hand and stabbed her on her neck and chest. When he tried to flee after the incident, the locals caught him and handed him over to the police. She was rushed to the police, but her life could not be saved.
