Actress Manju Warrier condemned the violence at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. The actress said that she was shocked to see the faces from JNU and the politics of violence under the cover of darkness, however, it cannot be supported at all.
Her Facebook post says
I was shocked to see the faces from JNU in TV this morning. Blood was seen oozing from many faces. Many joined hands and attacked them for nearly three hours in the night. JNU was the symbol of the country’s knowledge. Learning there was the standard of knowledge. Many who studied there still lead and rule us today.
Though their politics are different, their patriotism is unquestionable. They did not create a riot there in spite of their differences. When outsiders join hands and unleash violence under the cover of darkness, whatever their politics be it cannot be supported. Majority of the women who have sent their children there may be ordinary people. What would be their state of mind when they see the faces of the blood-soaked? We cannot ignore them, I too stand with them.
