Poetess Sugathakumari's health deteriorates, in critical condition

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health condition of poetess Sugathakumari, who is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of the Medical College Hospital after testing positive for the virus, has deteriorated. She also suffered a heart attack.

This has seriously affected the functioning of the heart due to earlier heart-related disease.

Kidney function has also impaired. Since the virus has affected the lungs, oxygen is delivered with the help of machine. The hospital superintendent said her body was not responding to the medication.
