KOCHI: In a press conference Dharmajan said that most of the artists in cinema are with the right-wing and more artists will come to the Congress. The actor added that he will contest if the Congress demands.
'I've been a Congress activist for years. I've pasted posters and made mic announcements. I've also been an office-bearer. I always had the opportunity to compete but set it aside. But there is no problem in contesting in the Assembly elections, ”Dharmajan said. It was reported that Dharmajan would contest in Balussery in the Congress constituency though the party has not confirmed this.
Recently, director and actor Ramesh Pisharody participated in the Aishwarya Kerala Yatra of Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala. With this, it was rumored that Pisharody would also contest in the Congress ticket. A section of the party has suggested that Dharmajan and Pisharody should contest from Kunnathunadu and Tripunithura in Ernakulam. They say that if Kunnathunadu, where Twenty20 has a decisive influence, is to be maintained this time, someone like Dharmajan is needed. They claim that if Pisharody is fielded as a candidate in the nearby Tripunithura constituency, the entire constituency will be given more attention and it will benefit the party. They have also started trying to change the mind of Pisharody, who claims that he is not competing.
