KOZHIKODE: Calicut university has issued a ‘weird’ reply on the RTI plea filed in connection with appointment of teachers. The university has clarified that they cannot disclose the marks and there exists an open threat to members of the interview board.
The appointment of teachers in the Malayalam department has stirred off controversy on the allegation of nepotism. Following this, many job seekers have filed complaints to Governor and filed cases in high court. The RTI plea was filed before the university by an advocate. In the plea, the marks received by each candidate was asked but the university has given the dubious reply that marks cannot be publicised as there exists an open threat to the interview board members.
With the university’s reply on the RTI plea, allegations have aroused that it is a purported attempt by the university to cover up the crime. The university has used the clause of matters relating to internal security, to deny a clear answer to the RTI query.
