THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The draw for the Thiruvonam Bumper 2026 lottery will be held on September 26, Lottery Department Director K.S. Anju said. As many as 76,85,650 tickets have been sold so far, against the department’s target of selling 90 lakh tickets. The sale of the Thiruvonam Bumper began on July 20.
The first prize this year has been increased to Rs 30 crore from Rs 25 crore, which had remained the first prize for the past four years. The ticket price continues to be Rs 500.
The Lottery Department has also cautioned the public against booking tickets or making payments through fake websites operating in the name of the Kerala State Lottery.
The first prize for the Onam bumper was Rs 10 crore a decade ago. With the prize amount increasing over the years, the number of people buying Thiruvonam Bumper tickets has also grown.
People from Kerala as well as other states buy the bumper tickets, with winners emerging from both within and outside the state. The Lottery Department expects ticket sales to set a new record this year as well.
