Kerala records 31,959 COVID-19 cases on Sunday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 31,959 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 29,700 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1912 cases without an identified source of infection. 266 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 81 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

16,296 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,39,441 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 49 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 5405.

1,12,635 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 28.37.

With the addition of 13 new regions and the removal of 1, there are 674 hotspots in the state.
