KOTTAYAM: NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair stepped forward responding to former minister K B Ganesh Kumar’s sarcastic criticism. He said appointments to various NSS institutions have always been made strictly in accordance with the law. While talking to the media, he said let those with complaints approach the court.

‘I’ve not given appointments to anyone illegally. The claim that I appoint only my family members is a false propaganda. My family includes the whole of Kerala. I haven’t done any harm to him, nor has he done any favour for me. He has come forward with criticisms after losing his posts. Why didn’t he raise these issues earlier? Let him approach the court if he has any objection,’ said Nair.

‘Ganesh Kumar is one who has levelled allegations against his own father. He himself had once said that his father had advised him to live by loving the NSS and its general secretary. So, what is he doing now? There are some moving the court to destroy the NSS. Ganesh Kumar is acting as their ally. I have been serving the NSS for 64 years. Not a single mistake that anyone could possibly find has occurred on my part so far,’ he said.

‘No one has been denied entry to Mannam Samadhi. When the Vice President came for a visit, they wanted to bring sniffer dogs inside to inspect the Samadhi. We consider this place equivalent to a temple and worship it accordingly. So, we said no. I said that no one should pay floral tributes at the Samadhi after bringing dogs inside. That is my duty,’ clarified Sukumaran Nair.

Ganesh Kumar had sharply criticised the NSS and Sukumaran Nair on Tuesday. He alleged that the NSS was being controlled by a few individuals and accused them of turning the great organisation founded by Mannathu Padmanabhan into a dictatorship.
