Bengaluru road claims Malayali woman’s life; Provident Fund employee dies on way to work

BENGALURU: A 30-year-old Malayali woman died after the scooter she was riding lost control and overturned in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The deceased was Medha Prithviraj, daughter of retired teacher Prithviraj Modakkallur of Khadi Road, Arappeedika, Balussery, Kozhikode.

Medha, an employee of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, was on her way to work when the accident occurred around 9 am in Electronic City. She was thrown onto the road and was run over by a lorry, dying on the spot.

The body was taken to her hometown after a post-mortem at St John's Medical College Hospital. The funeral will be held at 10 am on Thursday at the family residence on Khadi Road, Arappeedika, Balussery.

She is survived by her husband, S L Akarsh, an IT employee in Bengaluru, and son Daksh Akarsh. Her mother, Usha, is a retired teacher at Green Mount Public School, Thariyode.
