KOCHI: The price of cooking gas has gone up. The price of cylinders used in homes has been increased by Rs 25.50 paise. With this, the revised price per cylinder in Kochi has gone up to Rs 841.50 paise. The price of commercial cylinders increased by Rs 80 and touched Rs 1,550. The revised price came into effect from today.

The hike in the price of cooking gas is at a time when protests are raging against the continuing rise in fuel prices. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked 17 times in the last month. The sharp rise in cooking gas prices along with the rising fuel prices will further upset the budget of households in the country. The price of LPG cylinders is decided on the first day of every month.
