Son beats parents to death in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A woman, who was undergoing treatment after her son beat her, died here Wednesday morning. She has been identified as Thankamani (70) of Avanisseri in the district. Her husband Ramakrishnan (75) died last night. The Thodupuzha police have arrested the couple’s son Pradeep.

Pradeep beat his parents on the head with an axe. He is an alcoholic. He beat them on their head after a dispute broke out last night.

Although the couple was first taken to Thrissur General Hospital and then to the medical college, their lives could not be saved. The locals said that Pradeep’s wife and daughter went to her house after he attacked them.

The police are questioning the accused. It has to be examined whether there is any other reason behind the incident.
