THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former SFI leader Anupama S Chandran has begun a hunger strike before the Secretariat to get back her baby. She is staging the protest along with her partner Ajith. Earlier, Health Minister Veena George had called Anupama and requested her to withdraw from the hunger strike. However, Anupama decided to go ahead with the protest.
"I have decided to go ahead with the protest as no actions were taken despite filing complaints at all levels. No one else should suffer like this. I want the justice I deserve. People who had spoken harshly to me and those who had rejected my requests are now extending their support. I had met and handed over a complaint to CPM acting secretary A Vijayaraghavan twice. I've lost faith in the Women's Commission as well. Only the court can do something about the baby," Anupama said. Meanwhile, CPM leaders, including Brinda Karat, have extended support to Anupama.
