THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: From now on, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's official journeys will be in a black car. The CM's new official vehicle is the full option crystal shine black Innova Crysta with KL 01 CT 6683 registration. The Chief Minister, who arrived in the capital yesterday morning after the Palakkad district conference, made his maiden journey from the airport to the AKG Centre in this vehicle.
This black car was added to CM's cavalcade following a police directive. It was decided to buy three black Innova Crysta cars and two Tata's dark edition Harriers for the CM's cavalcade. The CM has started using the first car purchased like this. All vehicles belonging to the security team, including the pilot and escort in the convoy, will turn black.
The Public Administration Department had sanctioned Rs 62.46 lakh for the purchase of vehicles last September. The police recommend that black be the best color for night security. Many heads of state, including the Prime Minister, use black cars in the assumption that black vehicles can help them escape night attacks.
