THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Communist Party of India (CPI) publication ‘Navayugam’ has given sharp reply to an article, which raised sharp criticism against the party, published in a weekly ‘Chintha’. Navayugam has slammed the CPM for being responsible for the origin of Naxalbari in the country. It was the CPM that engrained the desire for armed revolution in youths. The CPI’s political publication Navayugam also slammed EMS for being the first person to call a group member as a class traitor.
‘CPM has never been able to accept the right and wrong. The article published on Chintha has Himalayan blunders in it’, stated Navayugam. Meantime, CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said on Sunday that the article published on Chintha was only a letter and not any leader’s article.
The major criticism in the article was that the CPI activists were opportunists. The CPI, which has a long history of calling its comrades as Chinese spies and imprisoning them, should abandon its red flag and remove the term ‘communist’ from its name, said the article. The reply to the article will be given through Navayugam, said CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran.
