Tapping worker killed in wild boar attack

PATAHNAPURAM: A tapping worker was killed in a wild boar attack. The deceased has been identified as Panambatta native Sukumaran (69).

The wild boar attacked Sukumaran at around 7 am on Tuesday while he was doing tapping work in a rubber plantation near the Vellangad factory. Although the locals rushed him to the hospital, he could not be saved. There were several wounds on his body.

Sukumaran is survived by wife Bhargavi, children Latha and Ratheesh.

Woman injured in wild boar attack

A woman was also injured in a wild boar attack. Pathanapuram native Meenakshi Amma was attacked by a wild boar that came from behind. Her right arm was deeply wounded. She was admitted to Punalur Taluk Hospital.
