Monson Mavunkal case: complainants demand CBI enquiry

kk

KOCHI: A complaint has been given to the Chief Minister demanding to handover investigation in Monson Mavunkal antiquities scam case to the CBI. Yakoob Purayil, a native of Kozhikode has given the complaint stating that there was an attempt to sabotage the investigation. Top police officers and politicians are accused in the case. The crime branch has limitations to investigate. A CBI investigation is necessary as the scam extends beyond the state, states the complaint.

One of the complainants, Shemir, a native of Kozhikode, had approached the High Court alleging that the investigation is not being done properly. He alleges that the attempt is to save the officers and confine the proceedings to a departmental inquiry.
