Director Shaji Kailas bereaved, film fraternity pays homage

Director Shaji Kailas lost his mother Janaki S Nair of Thejas (KNRA 69) in Kairali Nagar, Kuravankonam Thursday morning. She was 89. She will be cremated at Shanthikavadam this evening. Her husband Sivaraman Nair predeceased her. She leaves behind her children Shaji Kailas, Krishna Kumar (Roy) and Shanthi Jayashankar and in-laws Chitra Shaji, and Jayashankar (late).

She has been ill for quite some time. Shaji Kailas knew about the death of his mother at the shooting location of Kaapa. The shooting was stopped and he immediately rushed to his residence in Kuravankonam.

Many including the film fraternity paid tributes to the departed soul. FEFKA directors’ union paid homage via a Facebook post.
