Major accident in Oman; seven vehicles collide on highway, two Asians killed

MUSCAT: A major accident occurred in Oman when seven vehicles, including two trucks and five small vehicles, collided on the Oman-Nizwa Muscat road. Two Asians lost their lives in the accident, while several others were injured, the Royal Oman Police said.

Police have not yet released information about the nationality of the victims. The details shared so far were part of a safety advisory issued for travellers. The accident occurred when two trucks travelling on the same route collided first, followed by five smaller vehicles crashing into the trucks.

Following the accident, police have restricted traffic in the area and diverted vehicles to alternate routes. These controls will remain in place until the situation returns to normal. In light of the incident, the Royal Oman Police have warned travellers to strictly follow road safety rules and not to make any compromises.
