THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police said that a case will be registered against those who circulated on social media the video of a minor girl, who created a ruckus at the Pothencode Police Station. The action is after the video was widely circulated on social media.

The dramatic scenes unfolded at the Pothencode Police Station on Wednesday night at around 11 pm. The 16-year-old girl arrived at the station demanding the release of her male friend, 28-year-old Murugan, a resident of Kunnuvila in Koithoorkonam. Murugan was taken into custody by the Pothencode police for creating a commotion at the Monarch Bar in Pothencode after consuming liquor.

The girl turned violent when the police informed her that Murugan, who is on the rowdy list, could not be released immediately. She then hurled abuses at the police, and also tried to physically assault the officers. In the presence of her relatives, the girl was admitted to the de-addiction centre at the Peroorkada Mental Health Centre.
