NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has dismissed allegations raised by a New Delhi-based Class 12 student who claimed his answer sheets were swapped during the revaluation process. In an official statement, the board termed the student’s claims factually incorrect. The student, identified as Vedant Srivastava, remains steadfast in his complaint despite the administrative denial.
The dispute intensified after Vedant alleged on social media that his marks had increased by only one point each in two subjects, with no change to his Physics score. The board countered this assertion, clarifying that the revaluation actually resulted in a nine-mark increase in his Physics paper.
Following the board’s statement, Vedant released a new video on social media to defend his position. He reiterated that the initial answer scripts shown to him did not belong to him, claiming that the supposedly increased marks were simply the original scores on his actual paper which he received later. According to the student, he had applied for the revaluation of 11 questions across various subjects but received only two marks in total, with Mathematics and Computer Science gaining one mark each, while Physics remained unchanged.
The issue first came to light in May when Vedant Srivastava posted a video on the X platform accusing the board of swapping his Physics answer script with that of another candidate. The post quickly went viral, sparking a major online debate over the transparency of the board's evaluation system.
