NEW DELHI: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad leadership withdrew from taking any responsibility in the Ayodhya Ram temple donation scam case. The VHP said they are not in any way responsible for the major irregularities that took place in the temple. With this, it is assessed that the leadership is completely abandoning Champat Rai, who was the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Trust.
The VHP leadership clarified that they have no role in the administrative matters related to the construction of the Shri Ram temple and demanded a thorough investigation into the scam. VHP President Alok Kumar said this in an interview given to a national media outlet.
“The VHP has earlier made it clear that the organisation will not build or run the temple after the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict. It is not the job of the VHP to build or run temples in any part of the country. They are run by the trust. What happens in the trust will be the responsibility of the trust. Attempts to shift responsibility to the RSS or the government are inappropriate," said Alok Kumar.
Alok Kumar also clarified that he has decided to distance himself from the actions of Champat Rai, who was the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Temple. There are serious controversies regarding the fraud and misappropriation of funds in Ayodhya. An SIT investigation into the incident is underway.
