BENGALURU: A woman was stabbed to death for ending her relationship. She has been identified as Amrutha, a law student in Bengaluru. The woman was fatally stabbed by her lover’s brother for ending the relationship. Amrutha, who had been undergoing treatment for three days with serious injuries, died yesterday.
The incident happened on July 13 in Kodihalli. Apart from studying law, Amrutha worked part-time at a pizza outlet. She was in a relationship with Dhanush, whom she met through a family member. She broke up with him after knowing that he had concealed his divorce and having a child. Police said Dhanush's brother Surya had threatened her over this.
Surya, who came near her residence in Kodihalli on July 13, threatened her again by telling her about this. An argument ensued during which Surya stabbed Amrutha in the chest and back before fleeing from the spot. Later, locals rushed her to the hospital, but she died yesterday while undergoing treatment.
The police have arrested Surya and Dhanush in the incident. The police said that a case has been registered and the investigation is progressing. Amrrutha's body has been shifted to C V Raman Hospital for postmortem.
