Major fire breaks out in Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi Rajdhani Express; passengers evacuated

JAIPUR: A major fire broke out in the Rajdhani Express travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi early Sunday morning. The incident happened around 5:15 AM near Kota in Rajasthan. The fire started in the B1 coach of the train. According to initial reports, there were no casualties. The coach was completely destroyed in the fire.

There were 69 passengers in the affected coach, and all of them were safely evacuated. Reports say that the quick evacuation helped prevent any loss of life. Many Malayali passengers were also travelling on the train.

Railway officials separated the damaged coach from the engine after the fire broke out. The train had left Thiruvananthapuram on Friday and was scheduled to reach Delhi this afternoon.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. Railway authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
