Neeraj Sharma, Ayushi arrested for murder

JAIPUR: A woman, who conspired with her relatives to kill her mother for property and to secure a government job on compassionate grounds has been arrested. Ayushi (23) along with six others, have been arrested in the case of killing her mother Neeraj Sharma (45) of Pratap Nagar. Neeraj was killed after a speeding Scorpio hit her.

Though the accused tried to make it look like an accident, Neeraj's brother Rakesh’s suspicion turned vital. When Rakesh filed a complaint with the police, saying that there was something unnatural about the death and that he suspected his niece, the plan behind the murder came to light.

Neeraj Sharma's husband Vijay Kumar Sharma died a year ago while he was in government service. Later, Neeraj got a job as a lower division clerk in a court in Jaipur on compassionate grounds. Although her daughter demanded that she be given the job after her father's death, Neeraj did not agree.

Ayushi then confessed to the police that she had planned with her relatives to eliminate her mother. Ayushi expected to get the job after her mother's death. She also thought that her mother's assets would come to her. Ayushi spent Rs 7 lakh to kill her mother. Apart from Ayushi, six relatives were arrested in the incident. Police said that the investigation is ongoing for another absconding accused.
