Vigilance arrests doctor in Pathanamthitta for taking bribe to perform surgery

PATHANAMTHITTA: Vigilance caught a doctor red-handed while accepting bribe for surgery. The arrested is Shaji Mathews, an ophthalmologist at Pathanamthitta Government Taluk Hospital. The vigilance came after a complaint of the doctor taking bribes from patients for surgery. He demanded Rs 3000 from a patient's son for discharge. He was caught while receiving this money during his outpatient session.
