ALAPPUZHA: Ambalapuzha MLA G Sudhakaran stepped forward harshly criticising CPM state leadership and opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan. He said that if the CPM has corrected their mistakes, the first person to be removed is state secretary M V Govindan. While talking to a media, he said Pinarayi is not the same person he used to be.
‘I stood firmly with Pinarayi when there was an internal conflict in the party between V S Achuthanandan and Pinarayi Vijayan. When VS tried to eliminate Pinarayi politically, I fought alongside him. Why did Pinarayi whom I protected not protect me in return? Pinarayi is no longer the same old Pinarayi. For the past four or five years, the party and Pinarayi have not been on the right track. M A Baby does not have the courage to correct the party.
People like M V Govindan have been made party secretary and the situation has reached a point where they say whatever comes to their minds. His attitude is one that refuses to acknowledge anything good. If there had been a corrective process in the party, the state secretary should have been the first to be replaced. Nothing will be set right through the present ‘treatment’ being given to the party. People distanced from the party because of corruption. Although the decision taken in P Jayarajan’s case is a corrective measure, the party will not improve merely by bringing one into the state committee.
Thomas Isaac is a communist landlord who speaks while putting his hands into both pockets of his coat and swaying from side to side. Which party branch did he work in? What police torture has he ever faced? Thomas Isaac has never worked in the Communist Party. Can this party improve with Isaac in it? Isaac should speak carefully,’ warned Sudhakaran.
