THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information has emerged against former DCC president Chenthi Anil, who was arrested for blocking Chief Minister V D Satheesan on the way. It is reported that the chief minister decided not to attend the programme based on an intelligence report. The report was received by the chief minister’s office after Chenthi Anil and his group invited V D Satheesan to the event.
The intelligence department had submitted a report to the chief minister’s office against him attending the programme at Chenthi, citing security concerns. The chief minister’s office had then officially informed the organisers, about a week in advance, that he would not be able to attend the event. The intelligence report mentioned criminal cases against Chenthi Anil as well as the backgrounds of people likely to attend the programme.
Based on this report, the chief minister’s office had informed Chenthi Anil and the organisers in advance that V D Satheesan would not attend the function. Although the organisers had informed the decision nearly two weeks earlier, Chenthi Anil has been accused of putting up flex boards across the area saying that the chief minister would attend the event.
The chief minister’s office also clarified that V D Satheesan stopped his vehicle and got out after seeing senior Congress leader and former MP N Peethambara Kurup.
