KOCHI: The Kalady Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit has suspended 16 students who participated in an SFI protest on the campus.
The action was taken after the university syndicate found that the students had acted in violation of the university’s disciplinary norms.
The students will remain suspended until the completion of an internal inquiry. They had staged the protest raising 18 demands, including the delay in the distribution of certificates.
Interim Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ciza Thomas had directly filed a complaint alleging that the students had manhandled her. Following the complaint, the Governor directly summoned the Director General of Police (DGP) and instructed him to take strong action.
