KOCHI: Actress Ansiba Hasan has approached the court after the police failed to register a case based on her complaint against actress Lakshmipriya and former AMMA president Shwetha Menon. Ansiba had lodged a complaint with the Palarivattom Police Station, alleging that a defamatory campaign had been carried out against her through social media. Ansiba’s complaint is that Lakshmipriya and Shwetha Menon had allegedly orchestrated and spread false allegations against her. However, with no case registered against either of them so far, Ansiba approached the court.
Ansiba filed her complaint at the Ernakulam Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court. The police had also refused to register a case on her complaint against actor Tini Tom. She subsequently approached the court and obtained a favourable order, following which the police registered an FIR against Tini Tom. Citing a similar delay in action on her second complaint, Ansiba moved the court.
In her complaint, Ansiba stated that the police had conducted only a preliminary inquiry and that further action was unnecessarily delayed. Her second complaint was filed following remarks made by Lakshmipriya during an interview with an online media last month.
Ansiba has also named Sukumaran, the owner of the online media that aired the controversial interview and Suresh, who interviewed her, in her complaint. She has further requested to probe the role of Shwetha Menon in the defamatory campaign against her.
