THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Periya Nambi (chief priest) of Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Ingethala Narayanan Raman (Kunhiraman Urulamkodithair -80), passed away. The former chief priest breathed his last at the residence of his son, Dr Madhusoodanan (Sree Chitra Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram), in Cheruvakkal, Thiruvananthapuram. He served as the Panchagavyath Nambi from 2001 to 2002 and as the Periya Nambi until 2005 at the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple.
The body was kept at the residence in Cheruvakkal for public viewing until 3 pm and then taken to his hometown, Kasaragod. The funeral will be held at Periya Urulamkodi Illam in Kasaragod on Monday morning. Narayanan Raman is survived by his wife, Gauri Antharjanam. His other children are Swayamprabha, Sanalkumar (former Melshanthi, Ettumanoor Mahadev Temple / Haripad Subrahmanya Swamy Temple), and Satyanarayanan (Melshanthi, Ettumanoor Mahadev Temple, former Melshanthi, Haripad Subrahmanya Swamy Temple).
