THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With flash flood warnings and the unabated rains in Kerala, the authorities earlier declared a holiday for educational institutions in six districts. This has now been extended to 10 districts, including Ernakulam. However, previously scheduled public examinations and university examinations will be held without any hindrance. The districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam are on Orange alert on Tuesday.

The holiday was declared for educational institutions in Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Thrissur, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kasaragod, Idukki and Kozhikode districts tomorrow (Tuesday)

Educational institutions operating relief camps in three taluks in Kannur and in Idukki and Wayanad will also be closed tomorrow. The district collector said that the holiday was declared in Pathanamthitta due to the heavy rains and the flood-affected camps operating in schools.

Madrasas, tuition centres, and Anganwadis will also be closed. However, there will be no change in the scheduled university and PSC exams.
