THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the announcement of a Crime Branch inquiry into the Planning Board examination irregularities, the PSC ordered the destruction of answer sheets for 642 categories for which the rank list was published in 2023. This has led to allegations of destroying evidence.

The action is under the Kerala Destruction of Records Act, 1961. The answer sheets of the posts for which the rank list was published and for which public examinations were conducted from January 1 to December 31, 2023, are being destroyed. The Planning Board examination was held on July 13, 2023. The PSC reasoned that they are moving ahead with destroying the paper since no further action is possible on it. The complaint is that the answers of many qualified candidates in the Planning Board examination were not checked.
