Shady bun muska business and Rs 14 lakh in account; Probe ongoing against Perambra teachers

KOZHIKODE: It was found that the three teachers arrested from Perambra for the drug trade were receiving lakhs in their accounts. Kannur Range DIG K. Karthik and Kozhikode Rural District Police Chief Merin Joseph said this in a press conference.

Five people, including three teachers, were arrested in the incident. The arrest of others in the case came after 2 grams of MDMA was seized from Safwan, an auto driver. Neeshma (30), a special educator at Perambra BRC, and Jijin Kuriakose (23), a native of Iritty, Kannur, who works as a delivery boy in Vadakara, were arrested yesterday.

It was found that 14 lakh rupees were transferred to Keerthana's account in a year, 9 lakh rupees to Kavya's account in six months, and lakhs of rupees were transferred to Neeshma's account. An investigation is also being conducted regarding the bun maska ​​sales done by Keerthana. It is suspected that she did drug sales behind the veneer of this shop. The arrested teachers were acting as intermediaries. The police collected all the evidence regarding financial transactions.

Modus operandi:

The teachers will take Rs 10,000 or 20,000 sent by customers. The money will be forwarded to the mafia. The customers will be given a proper location to reach to collect their materials. Every connection with drug groups was made through Instagram.

The police found that the accused had connections with gangs in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. When the bank accounts were inspected, financial transactions worth crores were found.
