Amidst ED raids, CPM offer support to district committee member Nikhil

KOZHIKODE: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) decided to support Kozhikode district committee member P Nikhil, who is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the CMRL monthly payment case. CPM district secretary M Mehboob alleged the raid to be politically motivated and said the party will provide full support to Nikhil in this regard.

Mehboob made this comment when he reached Nikhil's apartment, where the ED is searching. He alleged that not only the BJP but also the Congress is supporting the ED. Mehboob said that the case against Nikhil will be fought legally and politically.

Nikhil is a member of the CPM Kozhikode District Secretariat and owner of Solace Company. ED got Nikhil's information from opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena. In addition to Nikhil, the information of three others has been obtained from the diary. Veena told the ED that they were friends of her husband and former minister Muhammad Riyas. ED raids were conducted on the basis of the statement.
