Planning Board exam fraud: Crime Branch not to visit PSC headquarters for interrogation, will send letter today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A solution has not been found on the dispute between the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Crime Branch over the questioning in the Planning Board examination fraud. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had issued notices to PSC members asking them to appear at the crime branch headquarters for interrogation. However, all four members who received the notices have informed that they will not appear.

The members argue that they enjoy special protection in the matter. The Crime Branch, however, has rejected their demand that the questioning be conducted at the PSC headquarters. The Crime Branch will send a letter today stating that they will not go to the PSC headquarters to question them.

A crucial PSC meeting is scheduled to be held today to discuss the issue. The PSC members are likely to stand firm on their earlier stand. Legal advice on the matter will also be discussed at the meeting. The members are also concerned about what further steps the crime branch may take.
