KOZHIKODE: Three female passengers were taken into custody for hurling abuse at the woman conductor following a scuffle over boarding the wrong bus. The incident took place on a KSRTC Priyadarshini bus plying the Kozhikode Sultan Bathery route around noon today.
It was only after the three boarded the bus to Malaparamba that they realised their mistake. The argument started when the female conductor clarified that the bus was not running on the route wanted by the three passengers. When the bus reached the Nadakkavu area, the women raised a fuss, demanding that they get off immediately. However, the conductor insisted that since it was a town-to-town bus, they could only get off at the next stop.
The enraged women argued with the female conductor and created a ruckus inside the bus. During the argument, they pulled the bus's bell and broke it. The driver then drove the bus directly to the Kozhikode Medical College police station, and the female conductor filed a complaint with the police. Since the incident occurred within the limits of the Nadakkavu police station, the case was transferred there. The Nadakkavu police took their statements, and further action is progressing.
