NEW DELHI: An Air India aircraft operating on the Delhi-Bengaluru route suffered a tail strike while landing at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.
According to Air India officials, flight AI2651 made contact with the runway during its touchdown sequence. Despite the impact, the flight crew managed a safe landing, and all passengers and crew members evacuated the aircraft without injury.
Following the incident, the airline grounded the aircraft for comprehensive technical and safety inspections.
"A detailed investigation into the incident will be conducted in alignment with established safety protocols," an Air India spokesperson stated.
The grounding of the aircraft forced the cancellation of the subsequent return leg, flight AI2652, from Bengaluru to Delhi. Alternative arrangements are being made for the affected passengers.
