Man killed in wild elephant attack at Kothamangalam

KOCHI: In a tragic incident, a man was killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam. The deceased has been identified as Pushpakaran Vellakkayan, a native of Ponganchuvadu in Kothamangalam. According to reports, Pushpakaran had gone into the forest to collect forest produce when he was attacked by the elephant. He was later taken to a hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.

The people who were with Pushpakaran informed others about the elephant attack through a phone call. Following this, he was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. The tribal chief of Ponganmoodu confirmed Pushpakaran’s death and said that his condition was extremely serious by the time he reached the hospital.
