Shocking Palakkad suicide: 12-year-old dies after brother refuses to hand over TV remote

PALAKKAD: In a heartbreaking incident, a 12-year-old boy allegedly ended his life in Palakkad on Thursday morning following a minor dispute with his brother over a television remote. The deceased has been identified as Pradosh, son of Pramod, a resident of Muthukurussi in Tachampara.

According to local reports, the tragedy unfolded when Pradosh asked his 14-year-old brother for the TV remote. When his brother refused to hand it over, an upset Pradosh left the room and headed upstairs to the attic.

Concerned by his prolonged absence, family members searched the house and discovered the boy hanging in the attic. Although he was rushed to the hospital immediately, he could not be saved. Both relatives and school authorities confirmed that the child had no prior behavioural issues or distress.
