MV Govindan inducted into Politburo; comes as successor to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

NEW DELHI: CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan, has been inducted into the communist party’s top decision-making body, the Politburo. The decision was taken at the meeting of the Central Committee.

MV Govindan’s elevation to the seventeen-member Politburo comes after the post became vacant following the death of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The PB has four members from Kerala.

The State Secretary responded that he is proud to be included in the party’s top decision-making body.
