THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Under the leadership of the Revenue Department, an order will soon be issued on the formation of five committees for the implementation of the 'Pattayam Mission', which aims to provide pattayam to all eligible people in the state. On the 25th of this month in Kottayam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the pattayam mission.
The mission aims to find unused land in the possession of various government departments and distribute it to the landless. For the poor who have been in possession of land for a long time, steps will be taken to remove the legal obstacles, if any, to get the title deed.
More than 18,000 families in 1200 colonies in the state are eligible for pattayam. Their comprehensive data will be prepared. Meetings will be held under the leadership of MLAs in all assembly constituencies. A revenue officer not below the rank of Tehsildar will be the Nodal Officer. Action will be taken to give pattayam even if there is no deed to the land the people are living in.
