KELPETTA: Rahul Gandhi said that this upcoming election is an election to protect democracy and the Indian constitution. Wayanad Constituency UDF candidate Rahul Gandhi was talking to the media after canvassing for votes at Maravayal Colony in Kalpetta. "On one side there is an attempt to destroy the country's democracy and constitution and on the other an attempt to protect it. You know who is destroying and who is protecting the constitution," Rahul said.
Rahul Gandhi reached Maravayal Colony after filing his nomination papers at the District Collectorate as a road show. "When I came here five years ago, I spoke on the road show saying that I was a new person. You elected me as MP. I am not giving just a political speech here. Whether you are UDF workers or LDF workers, I have love for you beyond party politics. Despite our differences in political positions, we must go together on common issues. I consider it an honour to be your representative in Parliament. I have learned a lot from listening to you, talking to you and travelling with you for the past five years. I express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of my family members in Wayanad. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for enriching my parliamentary career for the last five years. I am reminded that I am committed to solving some of the major problems faced by the people of Wayanad. I will be with you to raise every problem of Wayanad inside and outside the Parliament," said Rahul Gandhi.
