KOZHIKODE: Senior Nursing Officer PB Anitha, who was transferred for supporting the victim of the ICU abuse case, will be reassigned to Kozhikode Medical College. The government has instructed the DME to issue an order in this regard. The appointment will be in Kozhikode till the final decision of the court. The action of the health department came after the strike of Anitha and the victim in support of her has started receiving attention. Anitha said that she welcomes the government's decision
Anitha, who testified in favour of the victim in the ICU torture case, was transferred to Idukki Medical College. Anitha approached the High Court against this. PB Anitha had alleged that she was not reinstated to work as an act of revenge for standing with the victim. The High Court order cancelling Anitha's transfer to Idukki came on the 1st of this month. The authorities said that the instruction of the director of medical education is needed to enter the job. Anitha filed a case for contempt of court but the government is moving to approach the court against the order.

On March 18, 2023, the woman who had undergone thyroid surgery was molested by the attendant Saseendran. The victim complained that five employees threatened her to withdraw the complaint. Anitha reported these five people. They were suspended. Anitha was also threatened by the NGO union leader following which she was transferred. However, the recommendation of the inquiry report to take action against the superintendent and chief nursing officer was not implemented.
