THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nilambur MLA PV Anvar MLA has apologised for his recent remarks against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Anvar made the controversial remark against the Chief Minister and his father while speaking to the media in the morning. "I made a mistake, it was a slip of the tongue. The reference (to the Chief Minister) was not intentional," Anvar said, tendering an apology for the same.

"The Chief Minister had made a statement falsely portraying me as a smuggler. What I meant through my statement in the morning was that no matter how prominent the person, even if it's the Chief Minister or someone above him, I will respond and give a fitting reply. I apologize to the Chief Minister and his family for any hurt caused by my words," Anvar clarified in a video message.

Anvar made the controversial statement as he was arriving at the Kerala Assembly in the morning. "It doesn't matter if it's the Chief Minister or even the father of the Chief Minister's father, I will say what needs to be said and respond as necessary," Anvar told the media.

Anvar clarified that his office staff brought the issue to his attention after he arrived from the Assembly, and it was only then that he realized the gravity of his slip of the tongue. He immediately apologized for the mistake.
